Only have time for a few brief words. It seems that the war may be reaching a turning point. We are close to Baghdad and the Republican Guard seems to have been severely degraded before they had a chance to fall back into the city. Plus the North and West are under control, which is very good news for the Kurds and also for us in Israel. The alert level in Israel has been lowered and people are no longer required to carry their gas masks all the time -- not that they were wearing them anyway. However, if Saddam (if he's stll with us, which I very much doubt) wants to use chemical weapons, which we now know he has (so much for France) the time to do it is in the next day or two. This is a very dangerous but I must say cautiously optimistic moment. I'm hoping for the best.
